Title: Introduction to effective Hamiltonian Approach in Scattering

Abstract: We will revisit the derivation of the effective Hamiltonian and its interplay to the scattering matrix [1]. Based on this we present a model for incorporating a direct communication between scattering channels by means of an enhanced state embedded in a chaotic environment of states [2]. Finally we will comment on how to link these results to experimental data obtained in chaotic microwave reverberation chambers using horn antennas.
